Join the fun Blog Caroling....

Thank you to footnoteMaven for starting the traditon of Christmas blog caroling!
I love to sing despite not always knowing the words to the song. So this is the easy part, post the words to the song and raise your voices to the heavens!
I have so many "favorite" Christmas songs, but one of my favorites' is definitely The Little Drummer Boy. I remember watching Bing Crosby and David Bowie singing this at Christmas time on Bing Crosby's Christmas special when I was a little girl...

THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY

Come they told me, Pa rum pum pum pum
A new born King to see, Pa rum pum pum pum
Our finest gifts we bring, Pa rum pum pum pum
To lay before the king, Pa rum pum pum pum,rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum
So to honor Him, Pa rum pum pum pum
When we come.

Little baby, Pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too, Pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring, Pa rum pum pum pum
That's fit to give our King, Pa rum pum pum pum,rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum
Shall I play for you? Pa rum pum pum pum On my drum.
Mary nodded, Pa rum pum pum pum
The ox and lamb kept time, Pa rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for Him, Pa rum pum pum pum
I played my best for Him, Pa rum pum pum pum,rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum
The He smiled at me, Pa rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum

For those of you who would actually like to HEAR Bing and David sing the song together here is it is, courtesy of YouTube:

What an awesome idea to post the video along with your mention of it. Clever! I love The Little Drummer Boy too. I'd actually prefer blog caroling over the real thing if the weather's cold outside. But listening to the wonderful Christmas carols is one of the highlights of this season. Merry Christmas to you!

I'm using this means to contact you. I can't get the contact link to work on your Blogger profile and I do have a Yahoo account. I wanted to thank you for your nice comment on my post of Dec 18. I love your Taylorstales too. I have a granddaughter named Taylor--love that name too! And I love your "I'm addicted to genealogy" button. Where did you get it?

Greetings Taylorstales,
I have always enjoyed the Bowie & Bing version of The Little Drummer Boy - a definite classic.

Also, I have nominated you for the Proximidade Award. Please check out the details at http://looking4ancestors.blogspot.com/2008/12/proximidade-award.html

The Family

The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck
